East Africa and Uganda’s representatives, St Noa Girls School, have advanced to the knockout stages of the CAF Schools Football Championship with an impressive 100% record performance from the group stages.
The team topped group B with 9 points and 7 goals after winning all the three matches.
St Noa kicked off the championship on a good note with a 1-0 win over defending champions South Africa.
Kawiino Grace came off the bench and scored the team’s only goal just 37 seconds after being substituted on.

The win motivated the girls and brightened the team’s hopes to qualify for semi finals.
On the second day of the competition, Uganda registered two emphatic wins to seal a semi final spot.
Uganda beat The Gambia 3-0 courtesy of Lilian Nabukera’s brace and subsitute Grace Kawiino’s goal.
The team later defeated DR. Congo 3-0 to ensure maximum points in the group stage.
After an impressive performance in the previous games, midfielder Brenda Nasaka finally found the back of the net with a sole run before dodging the goalkeeper and scoring in an empty net to give St Noa the lead.
Lydia Namaseruka doubled the lead at the stroke of halftime before dangerous substitute Grace Kawiino added ice on the cake a minute after being substituted on at the start of the second half.
Despite coming off the bench all the three games, Grace Kawiino is Uganda’s leading goal scorer with three goals, having scored in every match.
The team will face Morocco today at 6:15 PM EAT in the semi-finals with one mission to make it to the finals.
This will be the second time a Ugandan girls’ team will be meeting Morocco, the first being Kawempe during the last edition in Tanzania at the same level. Morocco beat Uganda 1-0 and advanced to the finals, where they lost to South Africa.
