St. Peters’ College Tororo, Ngora High and St. Joseph of Nazareth are among the schools that have been selected as hosts for the upcoming USSSA National Championships after their successful bids.
This was after the representatives of the schools made their presentations at USSSA offices in Old Kampala on 18th October 2024.
The event was overseen by Odong Sammy, Assistant Commissioner PES and Ms. Abalo Grace, Senior Education Officer from the Ministry of Education and Sports. Justus Mugisha, USSSA President chaired the meeting that was also attended by the Executive Committee members Hajji Kitezaala Twahil (1st Vice President) Okot’Bitek (2nd Vice President), Ms. Apolot Margaret Harriet (3rd Vice President), Ayub Khaklifa Kiyingi, Lwembawo Kyagulanyi and Okanya Patrick, President Emeritus.
In attendance were representatives from St. Joseph of Nazareth, Standard High School, Ndejje Campus, St. Mary’s College Rushoroza, Jinja SSS, St. Peter’s College Tororo, Ngora High, Seroma Christian High School and Bukedea Comprehensive School.
Schools that sent their bids by 30th September 2024 were earlier inspected by a team of official from the department of Physical Education and Sports and Uganda Secondary School Sports Association.
The bidding schools showed availability of sports venues, accommodation facilities, proximity to hospitals and security measures that are in place for the participants.
After selecting the host school for each championship, a standby school was identified as a Plan B if the initial host isn’t ready by a set date.
St. Joseph of Nazareth located in Kavule, Mpigi will host the 6th Edition while Seroma Christain High School will host a consecutive Swimming Gala after welcoming the swimmers earlier this year.
“We will co-host with Tororo Girls’ School since we have the two sexes but there are other schools for example Manjasi High School and Rock High School where more numbers can be accommodated” Emuron Luke, Headteacher St. Peters’ College Tororo on their plans to host Ball games II.

“We are grateful that the process has been open to everyone to bid and make presentations of their facilities. I would like to congratulate our competitors namely Bukedea Comprehensive for taking the initiative. I am very happy that we have been selected for the second time in a row to host this swimming gala” Mrs. Amelia Kyambadde, Resident Director Bukedea Comprehensive School who was accompanied by the Games’ Teacher Magyezi Thomas
“We are glad to have been selected as hosts of the Elite games in January 2025, this means a lot to us as a private school.
