Team Uganda is ready for the World School Cross Country Championship according to coach Raphael Kasajja.
Uganda are the defending Champions from the previous edition that was held in Slovakia and this time round they boast of a bigger team according to head coach,Raphael Kassaja.
“In Slovakia we only had the under 18 team but we won the championship, this time round we have six teams in 3 categories and we are here to take back what we believe is ours”. Coach Kasajja said after a training session held at Nairobi School this morning.
Team Uganda is comprised of 3 age categories 12,under 15 and under 18 with each category being represented by both boys and girls.



The event format is individual competition/ team ranking.
The students to take part in the Championship were selected after a training camp that was held by USSSA in January 2024 and they are from districts of Kween,Kapchorwa,Bukwo and Nakapiripirit.
Prior to the Championship another training camp was held at St. Peter’s College Tororo for 2 weeks.

“We know we shall have challenge from the Kenyans as usual but we are ready for them, set and good to go”. Concluded Coach Kasajja.

The competition will be run according to the current ISF and World Athletics rules under the ISF Technical Commission.
Four best runners from every country will score for the team rankings.
