Uganda soaring high ahead of final group hurdle-Netball.

Overview

Ahead of the final group game day, Ugandan teams have continued to dominate the FEASSA Games in Bukedea, Uganda.

Friday results

  • St. Noa Girls’ School 42-38 Bumala AC SS
  • Lutozo SS 24-57 St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende

St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende and Kawanda SS, both from Uganda remain the only unbeaten teams after matchday four.

Following a rest day on Thursday 22nd where there was barely any netball action in the FEASSA Games, Friday was a day of classics at Bukedea Primary playground.

St. Noa Girls’ School kicked off the day with a classic against Kenya’s Bumala AC SS. A very close contest that left the crowds mesmerized with how the Kenyan girls put up a great challenge and character against the Ugandan side.

A game of fine margins finally bowed St. Noa Girls’ way with a four point difference. (42-38)

Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Boarding School Kitende which is Uganda’s reigning champion and FEASSA netball defending champion having won last year’s edition in Huye, Rwanda continued to spring their dominance in the sport.

Having started the game with a very much changed side, it was not an easy sail for the giants especially in the opening stages of the game.

St. Mary’s Kitende loosened up a little providing a much needed rest to the familiar faces. Kitende later introduced the likes of goal shooter Nabbosa and Centre Sami to add grit to the team in the third and fourth quarters.

Kawanda SS had extra time to recharge their batteries as they return to action on Saturday 24th.

Saturday fixtures

  • Gahini SS vs Kawanda SS
  • Dr. Samia SS vs Oyugi Ogango Girls
  • Bumala AC SS vs Lutozo SS
  • Andersen SS vs St Noa Girls’ School
