Uganda’s returning delegation from their debut ISF football tourney in Morocco was met with great enthusiasm at Entebbe International Airport. The team, consisting of players and officials from the 2023 ISF WSC football championship, including St Noa Girls Zzana, Kibuli S.S, and Amus College, were welcomed by Government Officials, USSSA officials, family, students, friends, well-wishers, and the media. St Noa Girls Zzana stood out with bronze medals in the competition that attracted 28 countries.




The delegation, headed by President Emeritus Patrick Okanya, enjoyed a lavish luncheon at the Imperial Golf View Hotel in Entebbe Municipality. Among the attendees were Commissioner of Physical Education and Sports Rev. Duncans Mugumya, USSSA President Justus Mugisha, CEO Chris Mugisha, and Ismael Mulindwa, representing the Ministry of Education and Sports.

Mulindwa conveyed greetings from the Minister of Education and Sports, Janet Kataha Museveni, and praised the team’s discipline, hard work, and cooperation. He commended the accompanying officials, including Members of Parliament, ASHUU President Brother Augustine Mugabo, USSSA officials, school administrators, and coaches. He encouraged the teams to prepare for the upcoming FEASSSA Games in Huye City, Rwanda.

Rev. Mugumya reiterated the government’s strong support for sports at all levels and emphasized the importance of a balanced approach between sports and education for students.

USSSA President Mugisha expressed gratitude for the government’s support and called for increased capacity building for Uganda’s teams and leaders in promoting mass sports. He highlighted the need to address technical aspects to ensure teams perform at their best.

President Emeritus Okanya thanked the teams for their teamwork and positive mindset during the 2023 ISF WSC Games. The article also mentioned that China would host the 2024 ISF WSC football championship in Dalia City from May 17th to 27th.
