All is set for the 2024 National Primary Schools Kids Athletics and SNE Championship in Kitgum District.

This will be the first championship organised under the new leadership team of the Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association headed by William Bwambale.
Having held one in Luweero last year, this will be only the second time in the post -covid era. This edition has attracted teams from more than 100 district Local governments.
By press time more than 60 Districts had reported and more are expected to report very soon.
The teams shall reside at host school Kitgum Public School and the co-host St Janan Luwum primary School.
In contrast to the previous editions, in this year’s edition there will be only two categories that is U-12 and U-14 with the U-16 scrapped from the Primary Schools championships and advised to take part in the Secondary Schools Championships but SNEs have been maintained.

The SNEs include the physically handicapped, blind, deaf, dumb and those with mental disabilities.
Participants will participate in 50m, 60m hurdles and sprints 4 X 50m relay, high jump fosbury, long jump, 5 multiple jumps, triple jumps, javelin, discus, shotput, cross country.
The president Uganda Primary Schools Sports Association, Bwambale William, says that the athletics talent sporting event targeting children under 14-years is a grooming ground for national talents.
“This is one of the greatest opportunities for our children to have their respective talents in athletics natured for national glory. We thank the respective local governments, cities and municipalities that have sponsored their respective teams,”
This is the 11th edition of kids Athletics in Uganda and it’s expected to end on the 22nd May at Kitgum Public School playground
