The highly successful USSSA Sports Management and Administration Course came to a close on Sunday, January 26th, in Gulu City, with a total of 161 participants awarded certificates of attendance. The three-day program, which kicked off on Friday, January 24th, brought together 82 participants from secondary schools and 79 from primary schools within the Northern Region.

The comprehensive course, designed to equip sports administrators with the necessary skills and knowledge, covered 10 modules, including Finance in Sports Associations. This module provided participants with valuable insights on managing sports finances effectively.
According to Mugisha Christopher Banage, CEO of USSSA, “We’ve introduced this comprehensive course to equip our sports administrators with the skills and knowledge required to excel in their roles.” He emphasized the importance of empowering sports administrators to ensure seamless and well-organized events that showcase the best of Ugandan athletes.

Mr. Okot P’Bitek, 2nd Vice President of USSSA, echoed this sentiment, stating, “Our goal is to have seamless, well-organized events that showcase the best of our athletes. With this training, we’re confident that our competitions will reach new heights.”

The City Educational Officer, Mr. Irwenyo Richard, expressed his enthusiasm for the collaboration between USSSA and the Ministry of Education. “I’m thrilled to see USSSA and the Ministry of Education collaborating on these initiatives! As the City Educational Officer, I’m confident that these programs will empower our people with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in sports administration.”

The successful conclusion of the course was marked by a certificate award ceremony, where Mr. Irwenyo Richard proudly presented certificates to the 161 participants at Sacred Heart Sec School in Gulu. This achievement is a testament to the dedication and hard work of the participants, who are now equipped with the skills and knowledge to make a positive impact in the sports industry.
