USSSA BALL GAMES 1 OFFICIALLY OPENED IN BUKEDEA

The highly anticipated Opening Ceremony of the 2025 Ball Games kicked off in style at the Bukedea Comprehensive School stadium. The festivities began with a performance by a local band, leading participants from various schools into the stadium. The Ibwalet group from Bukedea then took center stage, entertaining the crowd with a vibrant Teso cultural dance.

The masters of ceremonies took turns delivering speeches that got the crowd pumped up. The Host Managing DirectorMr. Jonas Gumisirize warmly welcomed the audience and highlighted the impressive turnout of 7,000 participants this year. He promised an unforgettable experience, surpassing previous games. The Director also commended the Bukedea community team for their exceptional work and reminded everyone that all facilities around the school were freely available for use. He concluded with a resounding “May the best teams win!”

Justus Mugisha, President of USSSA, expressed gratitude to the School Director and staff for their outstanding efforts. He praised the school for successfully hosting the FEASSA games last year, showcasing its excellent facilities. Mugisha also thanked the government for their financial support and the Ministry of Education for providing opportunities for students to participate in sports.

He highlighted the two age categories participating under 16 and under 20 and commended his team for their hard work. Notably, he emphasized that scores would be determined on the field, not in tables.
