Kampala – The highly anticipated USSSA Ball Games II are just around the corner as the online registration phase recently came to a close. The focus now shifts to the upcoming nationals set to take place at St Mary’s College Rushoroza in Kabale.
Since its opening on May 29th, 2023, the online registration process garnered an overwhelming response from secondary schools across the region. A total of 1826 schools eagerly registered to be part of this prestigious sporting event, which celebrates the spirit of healthy competition and camaraderie among students.
Notably, the initial registration fee of 5,000 UGX underwent revision following fruitful engagements with the Ministry of Education and Sports and the Association of Secondary School Heads of Uganda (ASSHU). As a result, the registration fee was reduced to 3,000 UGX, making it more accessible to a wider range of schools. This collaborative effort highlights the commitment to inclusivity and ensuring equal opportunities for all participating schools.
The successful closure of the registration window marks a significant milestone in the journey toward the USSSA Ball Games II Nationals. The organizing committee is now fully dedicated to finalizing the intricate logistics, refining schedules, and arranging the venues to provide an unforgettable experience for all participants.
St Mary’s College Rushoroza, situated in the picturesque setting of Kabale, has been selected as the venue for the nationals. Renowned for its exceptional sports facilities and breathtaking surroundings, the college is poised to host a tournament that will leave an indelible mark on young athletes.
