The USSSA Capacity Building Program came to a triumphant close today, marking the end of a five-day intensive learning session. The program, which kicked off on December 8th, was held at various venues across the country, including Sacred Heart SS in Gulu City.
At Sacred Heart SS, a total of 62 participants from 19 districts within the Lango, Acholi, and West Nile zones gathered to hone their skills in football coaching and refereeing. The program was a resounding success, with 40 participants receiving certificates in refereeing and 22 in coaching.
The closing ceremony, held at Sacred Heart SS, was graced by the City Education Officer, Mr. Irwenyo Richard.
In his remarks, Mr. Richard applauded USSSA for organizing such programs, emphasizing their importance in developing the skills of local coaches and referees. He advised the participants to take advantage of more such courses to further enhance their skills.
Sister Lomuno Hellen, the host head teacher and Chairperson of ASSHU Acholi Zone, also expressed her gratitude to USSSA for the initiative. She encouraged the participants to take up sports seriously, noting that sports can open doors to new opportunities and take them far.
