The February USSSA Capacity Building Program has officially kicked off at Kabalega College in Masindi Municipality, with a total of 94 enthusiastic participants. The diverse group comprises students, teachers, and community members, all united by their passion for sports.

The comprehensive program offers three courses: Football Refereeing, Volleyball Refereeing, and Netball Umpiring. With 46 participants, Football Refereeing is the most popular course, followed by Netball Umpiring with 31 participants, and Volleyball Refereeing with 17 participants.During the opening ceremony, Mr. Isingoma Joseph, the Sports Officer of Masindi District, warmly welcomed the participants and expressed his appreciation for their eagerness to learn and develop their skills. He assured them that the program would be a transformative experience, and that they would leave with newfound knowledge and confidence.

The program is scheduled to run until February 15th, 2025, when the participants will be awarded certificates upon completion of their respective courses. With the guidance of experienced instructors and the support of USSSA, the participants are poised to acquire the skills and expertise needed to excel in their chosen sports.

As the program progresses, the participants will engage in intensive training sessions, theoretical discussions, and practical exercises, all designed to equip them with the knowledge, skills, and attitude required to become proficient referees and umpires.The USSSA Capacity Building Program is a testament to the organization’s commitment to promoting sports development and excellence in Uganda. By empowering individuals with the skills and knowledge needed to succeed in sports, USSSA is helping to build a brighter future for Ugandan sports enthusiasts.
