Uganda Secondary School Sports Association (USSSA) are pushing to have all stakeholders on board in terms of sports development.
The executive led by president Justus Mugisha spent the better part of the week in Soroti as part of the Association of Secondary School Headteachers of Uganda (ASSHU) Annual General Meeting (AGM) held at Teso College, Aloet.
The headteachers are seen as key internal stakeholders that could help USSSA make strides in the eight strategic areas of; administration, communications, competitions, governance, infrastructure and facilities, marketing, talent identification, and technical development –in the 2022-2026 period.
In this term, USSSA, according to Mugisha, seek to grow the existing competitions to include more of the disciplines like dance sport, lacrosse, woodball, beach (soccer, volleyball) and mind games plus also popularize athletics inter-school competitions.
The association has also introduced age category games but seeks to do it for all sports (U15, U16) and also start Sunday Leagues for major sports in cities and towns across the country.
