The 5th edition of the Elite Games kicked off on Thursday at Jinja SS and Jinja College School. In the Girls’ football category, the hosts Jinja SS engaged in a goal-filled match, narrowly defeating Bukedea Comprehensive in a thrilling seven-goal encounter. Meanwhile, the reigning FEASSSA girls’ football champions, Kawempe Muslim, delivered a dominant performance, overpowering St. Stephen SS Budondo with a resounding 4-0 victory, sending a clear early warning to other participating teams.
The initial round witnessed the crested cranes head coach Sheryl Botes and her technical staff witnessing Boni Consili’s stunning performance against former National champions and FEASSA champions, St. Noa. Rina Ariho’s first-half strike proved to be the deciding factor in this intense encounter.

Both rounds featured a total of 25 goals across 6 matches, highlighting an impressive offensive display.
Rinah Ariho, a 15-year-old prodigy from Boni Concili Girls School, emerged as the standout player, scoring an impressive total of 6 goals in two matches, including a remarkable 5 goals in her second game against St. Stephen SS Budondo.

Boni Consili and Kawempe Muslim SS, both tied on the same points and goal difference, having scored seven goals each and showcasing strong defensive prowess, aim to continue their stellar start to the championship. Day two of the three-day event promises an exciting clash as Kawempe Muslim SS and Boni Consili Girl’s SS go head-to-head early on Friday morning.
