Kangole Girls Secondary School from Napak district and Kaboong SSS from Kaboong district emerged triumphant in the Karamoja Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association-(USSSA) zonal qualifiers 2024.

Kangole girls sailed past the 2023 defending champions Moroto high School thanks to Trinity Akech’s lone goal that came in the 22nd minute of the game played at Kaboong
SSS play ground. Akech tapped home a minus laid by Joan Iko which gave Kangole an opportunity to win her 4th trophy in the last 5 finals consecutively.
Both Kangole girls and Moroto high school will represent Karamoja zone in the fresh diary National championship to be hosted by Ndejje SSS in Luwero district.
Meanwhile in the boys showdown, Kaboong SSS the hosts of the 2024 Zonal championship cruised past Lotukei Seed in penalty shoot outs.
The finalists played to a barren draw in normal time of the game before Lotukei missed 3 penalties to play victory into Kaboong SS’ hands.
Kaboong SS will re-appear at the national level after 19 years after failing to represent the the zone even after winning in 2013.
Kaboong will represent the Karamoja zone at the national championship in Masaka district.
Currently Karamoja has 2 slots for girls football teams and one slot for boys football team that represent the zone at the national championships with hope to increase on their slots this year.
