USSSA QUALIFIERS: Kitovu own Masaka zone.

The Masaka zone qualifiers came to a curtain call on Saturday 13th serving plenty of eye-watering actions to the spectators in Kalangala.

National Boys football championship Fortportal 2023 finalist St. Henry’s College Kitovu grabbed the headlines having truimphed over 2024 Nationals host Masaka SS.

Masaka SS who led the game for large got the opener in the first stanza through Opaka Lawrence.

All seemed to go their way and victory was on their cards but Kitovu’s Jonathan Kyalema thought differently.

Jonathan brought the game back to level terms at the full hour mark to breed hopes back into their travelling fans.

Having failed to find a winner in normal time the spot kicks were inevitable. ” time of truth!”

Masaka SS crumbled in the spot kicks handing St. Henry’s College the crown after their 4-2 penalty score.

Who will represent Masaka at the Nationals?

It is key to note that Masaka Zone will table four representatives to battle for the 2024 Boys Football crown on home soil as per slots allocation.

Well, Masaka SS already had their spot beneath their armpits as the hosts. Therefore they will be joined by Masaka champions St. Henry’s College Kitovu, Blessed Sacrament SS Kimanyi and zone semi finalists Sseke Secondary School

Blessed Sacrament beat Sseke SS 3-2 in a five goal thriller earlier in the third place play off in the bid to book themselves a ticket to the National showpiece.

The Secondary Schools Boys Football Championship will take centre stage this month from 26th April to 5th May 2024 in Masaka.
