Wakiso Regionals has always served cool and hot football vibes due to the rivalries and top talents that sprout from this given part of the country.
After holding draws for Wakiso Regional qualifiers on Friday, April 5 at Wakisha Resource Centre in Wakiso District, the championship will get underway on Monday, April 8.
This time round the championship will be hosted at St Mbaga Nadangira Zone as 32 teams vie for the five spots that are allocated in this zone.
The defending champions, Buddo SS were pitted in Group A with Kasangati High School, Kisubi Mapeera, Zana Mixed, Aiden College Ndejje, Andy Mwesigwa Education School and St James.
Having lost the Nsagi Zone finals to Madinah Islamic, Buddo SS will seek to put their house in order so as to defend their throne.
However, Madinah Islamic will be in Group C with Kitende Zone finalists Light High Seguku. In the same group is Standard High Zanna, Divine SS, Kangulu High School, Kawempe SS, Answar Moslem and St Jona.
Light High Seguku director Samuel Kiberu believes that amidst a challenging group they are ready to compete.
“The sports department has done a great job to put together a strong side. Yes, we have quite a challenging group but the team is ready to challenge and compete at this stage,” he stated.
St Mary’s Kitende is pitted in Group D alongside Greenlight Islamic SS and Entebbe’s Boston High School.
