In a groundbreaking move, the USSSA Sports Management and Administration Courses have officially commenced at Sacred Heart Sec School in Gulu City, Northern Region. The highly anticipated program has attracted an impressive 164 participants from four zones: Karamoja, WestNile, Acholi, and Lango.
Each district from the respective zones is being represented by a delegation of three officials, comprising two males and one female from the secondary school sector, and two participants from the primary school side. This diverse and inclusive representation is a testament to the program’s commitment to promoting sports management and administration excellence across all regions and levels of education.
The comprehensive training sessions will equip participants with the knowledge, skills, and expertise required to effectively manage and administer sports programs in their respective schools and communities. The program’s curriculum will cover a range of topics, including sports management principles, event planning, marketing, and finance.
On the first day of the program, participants engaged in insightful sessions on:
- USSSA and Its Activities, led by Instructor Mugisha Christopher Banage, CEO USSSA
- Sports Structures, Stakeholders Obligations, Online Registration System, and Transfers, also led by Instructor Mugisha Christopher Banage, CEO USSSA
- Effective Governance Culture in Sports Associations, led by Instructor Awuye Yusuf Suleiman, FIFA and FUFA certified Administration and Referees Instructor
- Communication and Media Relations, led by Instructor Omaria Bosco, Communications and Marketing Director at USSSA



The USSSA Sports Management and Administration Courses are set to conclude on Sunday, January 26th, with a grand ceremony, where participants will be awarded certificates of attendance. This milestone event will celebrate the participants’ dedication, hard work, and commitment to excellence in sports management and administration.
As the program unfolds, it is clear that the USSSA Sports Management and Administration Courses are poised to make a lasting impact on the sports landscape in Uganda, empowering a new generation of sports leaders and administrators to drive growth, development, and excellence in the industry.
