St Noa, Kitende, Buddo Win at Fresh Dairy Secondary Schools Games, Gulu 2022

St Noa Girls won their first ever national secondary schools girl’s football title after beating defending champions and record winners Kawempe Moslem 1-0 in the USSSA girls’ football finals played at Pece stadium, Gulu on Monday

Rines won third place after beating King of kings 1-0 and the four will represent Uganda at FEASSSA games in September in Tabora Tanzania.

Buddo SS retained their title and showed great signs of defending the FEASSSA accolade, wheh they overcame debutants Bethel Covenant 43-32 in a tense finale at Kaunda grounds in Gulu town.

However, the Buddo girls were dethroned, having lost 31-27 to St Noa in then semi finals, and Kitende, who beat Nabisunsa 44-25 at the same stage, retained the title after beating St Noa 37-31 in the final.

In Rugby, Namilyango college beat kings college Buddo 15-9 to win the boys while Entebbe Airforce beat St Catherine 7-3 to win the girls category.It was the first time girls rugby was being played at schools national championships and with two of the qualified 8 having turned up for the show, a three series competition between the two was arranged, where Airforce won twice to take the title with Catherine winning once to take the silver.

In table tennis, Kibuli led by Phillip Nakoopoli overcame Kikomeko Waswa’a St Michael with a 3-0 to win the boys title while Mbogo Mixed beat Mbogo High 3-0 to win the girls title.

The best four teams in basketball, girls football, table tennis and badminton have qualified to represent Uganda at the FEASSSA games due in Dodoma, Tanzania in September, where King of Kings and Rines will be making their maiden appearance in girls football.
