The highly anticipated USSSA Ball Games Woodball Championship at Teso College Aloet came to a close with Mityana SS and Mpoma School emerging as the ultimate champions, securing the coveted Boys’ and Girls’ Woodball Trophies respectively.
Mityana SS Triumphs
Mityana SS secured the Boys’ title with a 2:1 win over Our Lady of Africa Namilyango (OLAN). Ssemombwe Ronald and Ssebabenga Meddy led the charge, defeating OLAN’s Okalang Shadrack Mathew and Kasumba Henry Benjamin. Although OLAN’s duo of Atuhurire Benard and Twinomujuni Solomon won against Mityana’s Ntege Abdul and Buyinza Simon Peter, it wasn’t enough to change the outcome.
Mpoma School’s Glory
Mpoma School clinched the Girls’ title, edging Luzira SS 2:1 in a nail-biting match. Mpoma’s Namuleme Martha shone with six wins and two draws against Luzira’s Nakimera Sandra. Despite Nyiramahoro Angella’s loss to Luzira’s Tasumba Emilly, the duo Ajambo Rebecca and Atwiine Susan sealed the win, defeating Luzira’s Nampija Maria Gorreti and Ampaire Gift Queen 5:3.
