WOODBALL: Mpoma School Girls’ Team Vows to Lift This Year’s Title

Mpoma School’s girls’ woodball team has vowed to win this year’s title after a impressive performance on day two of the USSSA Ball Games II and Mind Games at Teso College Aloet. The team, which finished third in last year’s tournament in Kabale, qualified for the semi-finals with a 2-1 victory over St Mark’s College Namagoma in the quarterfinals.

Defending champion Mityana SS was knocked out of the competition after losing 2-1 to Mengo SS in the quarterfinals. Despite winning all their group stage games, Mityana SS failed to progress to the semi-finals.

Mpoma School 2-1 St Mark’s College Namagoma

Luzira SS 2-0 Kigezi High School

Our Lady of Africa Mukono 1-2 Standard High School Zana-Ndejje

Semi-final Fixtures:

Mengo SS vs. Luzira SS

Mpoma School vs. Standard High School Zana-Ndejje

In the boys’ category, Luzira SS, the defending champion, qualified for the semi-finals with a 2-1 win over Mengo SS. The boys’ quarterfinals results were as follows:

Our Lady of Africa Namilyango 3-0 Kyamate SS
