Denis Kisiriko’s lonely strike helped St Mary’s Kitende secure a 1-0 victory past resilient Kisozi Seed School in the ongoing 2024 USSSA Games at Masaka Recreational Centre on Saturday.
The games kicked off late as the secretariat delayed a bit to get done with screening though at exactly 2:00 PM were underway at Masaka Recreational Centre.
Kitende started on the front foot seeking an early lead but Kisozi Seed’s backline was well-organised.

But before the break, the holders increased pace upfront as Hassan Mubiru gave a hard time to Kisozi’s hardworking backline.
Kisiriko once again staged his poaching skills as he fired the holders in the lead from close range.
Kisozi Seed School will have several lessons to pick from because their backline looked decent against a star-studded backline.
After the game, Kisiriko revealed that his target is to take home the top scorer’s gong just like it was in the Wakiso Regional Qualifiers.

“I am longing to score more goals so that I can get the Golden Boot,” the forward stated.
“However the priority is to score goals that help the team because our target is to defend the trophy and am confident we can do it,” he added.
Kitende are the defending champions of this championship having edged St Henry’s Kitovu 1-0 in last year’s final.
However, they are also record 11 times champions sharing the throne with arch-rivals Kibuli Secondary School.
