Mentor high emerged as winners for this year’s Lango zone boys football qualifiers in Apac SS.
Mentor High School reached the finals unbeaten having won 4 times and drawn once in the group stages.
Mentor defeated Otwal SS 5-0 in the quarterfinals scored and 3:1 against Amolator SS in the semi final.
Mentor clinched victory over debutants King of Kings credit to Ebal Junior’s strike.
King of kings was a debutant in this tournament and managed to qualify for National championship in Masaka.
King of Kings will feel very undone as they were brilliant throughout conceding only once in the entire tournament.
Chairman USSSA Lango zone, Denis Ogwal was very optimistic of Mentor’s qualification,
“Unlike in the previous years, this time round, the Lango zonal champion, Mentor high school shall go into the nationals with high belief to emerge victorious since the brain behind the team, Geoffrey Odur, happens to be the same brain that made Lango province win the FUFA drum.”
“George Abdul RDC Apac district, also chief guest pledged to support all teams that have qualified for nationals.
Other significant figures during the closing ceremony include; the chairperson ASSHU Lango zone, Executice Committee delegate Bithola Ocukune Francis among others.

On the other hand, there was also some exciting action for the girls as they were battling for the two slots allocated to Lango zone for fresh diary games in the displine of football girls.
Acaba emerged the winner after defeating St Mary’s Magdalen a sister school to Mentor SS by 1:0 in the finals in a highly anticipated match.
Acaba SS defeated Adwari SS in the quarters by 4 goals to nil and Aculbanya at the semi final 1-0.
St Mary’s Magdalen had not conceded any goal until on the finals
Girls football teams qualified for the Fresh Dairy games
Acaba SS and St Mary’s Magdalen.
The national championship is starting on the 26th April – 5th May. Boys football will be in Masaka whereas the girls will in luwero
