USSSA concludes capacity building workshop in Kiboga.

USSSA successfully conducted a capacity building workshop at High Standard Secondary School, Kiboga, aimed at equiping students and teachers with netball coaching skills.

The training started on 26th January and came to a close on 1st February 2026.

The closing ceremony was graced by Mr. Patrick Okanya, the National Coordinator for Capacity Building at USSSA, who officiated as the chief guest. In his address, Mr. Okanya emphasized the importance of training the right skills in developing school sports.

He announced that participants below the age of 17 will receive support from USSSA to progress to Level II training, a move aimed at nurturing young talent and empowering students with certified coaching and officiating skills at an early stage.

Mr. Okanya further encouraged schools to actively utilize individuals who have undergone training, particularly students, noting that empowering trained learners as coaches and sports assistants not only benefits schools but also builds leadership, responsibility, and continuity in sports programs.
