On Wednesday evening, Amus College secured a 5-0 victory against Paidha SS in the ongoing 2024 USSSA Games encounter at Muteesa Royal University Grounds.
Hakim Musaaba was the hero scoring five to ensure that Amus secured a spot in the round of 16 in the ongoing championship.
The youngster has written his name in the history box because he scored his second hat trick in the four games played thus far.
With four wins in as many games played, Amus have been tagged favorites of the championship since they have so far scored 23 goals and conceded one in four games.
Elsewhere, the holders St Mary’s Kitende edged St Charles Lwanga, Kasasa after a 2-0 victory in a game played at Masaka Recreational Grounds.
It was party mood as usual at Kitovu Ground One as Blessed Sacrament Kimanya squeezed past Kakungulu Memorial in a 2-1 win.
Like the norm, the crowd was huge as the natives turned up in high numbers to rally behind the local boys who were playing good football.
After a goalless draw, Patrick Kafeero fired Kimanya ahead in the 49th minute before Ahmed Kintu restored parity for Kakangulu.
With ten mutes left on the clock, Najib Taaali tapped into an empty net as Kimanya regained their lead before the ground erupted in celebrations.
Last year’s losing finalists, St Henry’s Kitovu were ejected by hosts Masaka Secondary Secondary in a 4-3 shootout after a goalless draw in normal time.
