USSSA President Justus Mugisha was chief guest at the closing ceremony of Kampala Zone Qualifiers that took place on Tuesday 14th April at Hamz stadium, Nakivubo.


The president was accompanied by 3rd VP Harriet Apolot, CEO Chris Mugisha, President Emeritus Patrick Okanya, Omaria Bosco, Director Communications and Marketing and Chairman Board of Hamz Stadium, Rogers Mulindwa also FUFA Exco. Member.
The one month long competition saw all participants awarded medals and prizes post confirmation of Kampala zone representatives at this year’s National championships in Mukono and Lira respectively.
In boys football, Lubiri SS was perfect from the spot kicks to lift a title they had last won in 2012 while Kawempe Muslim edged Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga 2-1 to retain their crown.

Kampala Zone will be represented by Lubiri SS, Kawempe Muslim, Kibuli SS, Uganda Martyrs HS Lubaga, and Kazo Hill College in the National Boys Football championship come May.
For the girls, Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs HS Lubaga, Gadhafi Integrated and Highland SS will bear the Kampala flag at Seroma in Mukono.
Nabisunsa won girls’ basketball in scintillating fashion before storming the podium with style accompanied by well practised dance moves.
