The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has officially commenced the review process of the Secondary School Competition Rule Book ahead of the 2027 school sports season and is calling upon all stakeholders to actively participate in shaping the future of school sports in Uganda.
In a circular issued by the Chief Executive Officer, Christopher Mugisha Banage, USSSA announced that it is reviewing the current competition regulations to ensure they remain relevant, effective, and responsive to the evolving needs of school sports across the country.
As part of the review process, USSSA is inviting stakeholders, including zonal leaders, district officials, games teachers, administrators, coaches, referees, and other members of the school sports community, to submit proposals, recommendations, amendments, and areas they believe should be included in the 2027 Secondary School Competition Rule Book.
According to the association, the exercise is intended to gather views from those directly involved in the administration and delivery of school sports, ensuring that the revised rule book reflects the realities and aspirations of stakeholders at all levels of competition.
All submissions should be made on or before 17th October 2026 to allow adequate time for consideration, consolidation, and incorporation of relevant proposals before the document is submitted to the Ministry of Education and Sports for confirmation.
Stakeholders can submit their contributions through the following channels:
WhatsApp: 0776 981 995
Email: usssa2002@gmail.com
USSSA has emphasized that stakeholder participation is vital in strengthening and improving the framework that governs secondary school sports competitions in Uganda.
The association encourages all interested parties to take advantage of this opportunity to contribute ideas that will help enhance fairness, competitiveness, talent development, athlete welfare, and the overall management of school sports.
USSSA remains committed to working with its stakeholders to ensure that the 2027 Secondary School Competition Rule Book supports the continued growth and development of school sports in line with its mission to identify, nurture, develop, and promote talent across Uganda.
