Executive Summary

This report presents the implementation of the USSSA President’s 2022–2026 Manifesto, delivered under the leadership of President Justus Mugisha and implemented through the Secretariat led by Chief Executive Officer Christopher Mugisha Banage.

Over the four-year period, USSSA strengthened governance, embraced digital transformation, expanded competitions, enhanced capacity building, deepened stakeholder engagement, improved media visibility, and elevated Uganda’s performance on regional, continental, and global stages.

The achievements documented in this report demonstrate USSSA’s commitment to building a professional, innovative, and sustainable school sports system.

As USSSA looks toward 2027–2030, the Association will build on these successes by expanding participation, investing in infrastructure, strengthening athlete development pathways, increasing strategic partnerships, and positioning Uganda as Africa’s leading school sports organization.

President’s Message

It is with great pride that I present this report on the implementation of my 2022–2026 Manifesto, entrusted to me by the USSSA membership.

When I assumed office, I committed to transforming USSSA through stronger governance, digital innovation, expanded competitions, capacity building, strategic partnerships, and increased international visibility. This report demonstrates how those commitments have been translated into tangible achievements through the collective efforts of the Executive Committee, Secretariat, member schools, government, partners, sponsors, teachers, officials, and our student-athletes.

While we celebrate these milestones, they also provide the foundation for our next journey. Our 2027–2030 vision is to consolidate these gains by expanding access to school sports, strengthening sports infrastructure, embracing emerging technologies, increasing commercialization, enhancing athlete welfare, and positioning Uganda as the leading school sports nation in Africa and a respected force globally.

I thank everyone who has contributed to this remarkable journey. Together, we have fulfilled our promise, and together, we will shape the future of school sports.

Working under the leadership of President Justus Mugisha, the Secretariat remained committed to translating the strategic vision into measurable results. Together, we strengthened governance, modernized operations through digital innovation, expanded competitions, enhanced stakeholder engagement, and improved service delivery across the country.

These achievements reflect the dedication of the Executive Committee, Secretariat staff, member schools, partners, sponsors, and government institutions.

As we enter the 2027–2030 strategic period, the Secretariat remains committed to delivering the next phase of growth through innovation, operational excellence, stronger partnerships, and sustainable development for school sports in Uganda.
