Justus Mugisha Re-elected Unopposed as USSSA President for 2026–2030

By John Wycliff Musinguzi

Justus Mugisha has been re-elected unopposed as President of the Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) for the 2026–2030 term.

His re-election was confirmed during the 44th USSSA Elective General Assembly held at Front Page Hotel in Kampala. The General Assembly brought together 95 delegates from the association’s 19 zones to review the association’s progress, deliberate on key matters affecting school sports, and elect a new National Executive Committee to lead USSSA over the next four years.

Mugisha’s unopposed return to office reflects the confidence and trust that delegates continue to place in his leadership and commitment to the growth of school sports in Uganda. During his previous term, USSSA strengthened its competitions, expanded participation, enhanced governance, and increased the association’s visibility both nationally and internationally.

Addressing the delegates after his confirmation, Mugisha expressed gratitude for the continued support and pledged to build on the achievements registered over the years.

“I am deeply honoured by the confidence you have once again placed in me. Together with the incoming Executive Committee, we remain committed to advancing school sports, nurturing young talent, and ensuring that USSSA continues to provide opportunities that positively impact learners across the country,” he said.

The General Assembly also elected members of the National Executive Committee who will serve alongside the President during the 2026–2030 term.

USSSA remains committed to its mission of promoting and developing school sports as a platform for education, talent identification, character development, and national unity.
