The 2026 National Boys Football Championship will take place in Lira between May 10th and May 20th 2026, defending champions Buddo SS head into the tournament with confidence after edging St. Mary’s Kitende in a dramatic penalty shoot-out victory during the 2025 final in Ngora.
Bukedea Comprehensive School arrive as one of the most feared sides after conquering both the Elite Games and the Federation of East Africa Secondary Schools Sports Association (FEASSA) championships last year.
Meanwhile, St. Mary’s Kitende will be desperate to end a rare two-year trophy drought, with pressure mounting on the perennial giants to return to the summit of school football in Uganda.
Following completion and confirmation of draws, the 64- team championship will take centre stage in Lira with 8 facilities set to be used.
The venues include; Lango College I, Dr. Obote I, Lira Town College, Lira P7 Grounds, Lira PTC, Lango College II, Dr. Obote II, Lango III.
Schools are expected to be report on Sunday 10th May, 2026 while games kick off on Monday 11th May.
Group game matches will be played from 11th May to 14th and a break before teams proceed to the round of 32 while others embark on the mandatory classification games.
Opening ceremony will be held on 12th May, 2026.
