The lacrosse competition at the USSSA BallGames II National Championship in Gulu delivered another exciting day of action as schools battled for dominance in the boys’ and girls’ categories.
In the girls’ competition, Empower International Academy started strongly with a convincing 12-7 victory over Kigezi High School in an entertaining encounter. Empower displayed impressive attacking play and composure to secure the important win.
Mt St Mary’s College Namagunga also produced one of the biggest results of the day, defeating Trinity College Nabbingo 16-3 in a dominant performance. Namagunga controlled the game from start to finish, showcasing their strength on both ends of the field.
The third girls’ fixture saw Bombo Army School overcome Tororo Girls School 12-5 in another competitive contest, with their efficiency in front of goal making the difference.
In the boys’ category, Kigezi High School recorded a commanding 21-8 win over Lumino High School in a high-scoring affair. Kigezi’s attacking strength proved too much for their opponents as they secured a comfortable victory.
The day’s closest encounter came in the boys’ division, where St. Peter’s College Tororo edged Bombo Army School 15-13 after a tightly fought contest. Both teams traded goals throughout the match, but St. Peter’s held their nerve to claim the narrow victory.
As the USSSA BallGames II National Championship in Gulu continues, teams remain focused on collecting vital points as they chase qualification and championship glory.
