Uganda’s representatives, Amus College School, are set to compete in the CAF African Schools Football Championship – CECAFA Qualifiers, which will take place in Kigali, Rwanda, from September 3–5, 2026.
Amus College will represent Uganda in both the Boys’ and Girls’ categories as eight CECAFA member countries battle for regional supremacy and qualification to the next stage of the African Schools Football Championship.
Amus drawn with Somalia, South Sudan and Burundi
In the Boys’ category, Amus College have been placed in Group B alongside Somalia, South Sudan and Burundi.
The Boys’ matches will be played at the FERWAFA Sports Complex.

Amus will have to finish among the top two teams in their group to secure a place in the semi-finals.

The Amus College Girls’ team has been drawn in Group A alongside hosts Rwanda, Burundi and South Sudan.
Their matches will be played at Kigali Pele Stadium.

Just like in the Boys’ competition, the top two teams from each group will advance to the semi-finals, with the winners progressing to the final.
Amus return to the regional stage
Amus College return to the African Schools Football Championship regional stage after their previous appearance in 2022.
The school’s Girls’ team finished third during the 2022 edition held in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, giving them valuable experience on the regional stage.
Four years later, Amus will be hoping to go a step further and challenge for the regional title in both categories.
With eight countries competing across the Boys’ and Girls’ tournaments, the CECAFA qualifiers promise three days of competitive schools football as the region’s young talents battle for honours and a place in the next stage of the CAF African Schools Football Championship.
All eyes will be on Kigali from September 3–5 as Amus College carry Uganda’s hopes on the regional stage.
