The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) has officially declared updated vacant positions on District Executive Committees across the country, following a circular issued by the Returning Officer, Opio Joseph Ekodeu.
Scope of Vacancies
Vacancies have been identified in 34 districts spanning 11 zones, namely:
- Acholi
- Ankole
- Bugisu
- Bunyoro
- Masaka
- Mpigi
- Mukono
- Rwenzori
- Sebei
- Teso
- West Nile
The positions were declared vacant due to retirement, transfers, change of district, resignation, assumption of new responsibilities, or failure to conduct elections within the affected districts.
Call for Nominations
Eligible members in the affected districts are hereby invited to pick nomination forms in accordance with the USSSA Bye-Elections Guidelines (2022–2026).
A detailed roadmap covering nominations, polling dates, and designated returning officers will be communicated in due course.
Important Deadline
Districts that have not yet declared vacant positions were given up to 13th February 2026 as the final deadline to submit their declarations.

- Encourage eligible candidates to participate
- Support a transparent, orderly, and timely by-election process
