The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) will conduct a five-day inspection exercise from 14th to 18th October 2026 to assess schools that have submitted bids to host and co-host the 2027 National Secondary School Championships.
The exercise is intended to evaluate the readiness and capacity of the bidding institutions to host the national competitions, with particular attention to sports facilities, accommodation, sanitation, catering, medical services, security and other essential requirements.
A total of 15 schools and institutions have been listed among the bidders seeking to host or co-host the various championship events in 2027.
The inspection team will assess the suitability of the proposed venues, including playing fields, accommodation for athletes and officials, dining facilities, water supply, first-aid services, transport accessibility, technical and administrative facilities, ICT and communication infrastructure, and spectator facilities.
The five-day programme will cover different regions of the country, with the inspection team visiting the respective institutions according to the approved schedule. The exercise will also provide an opportunity for the team to engage school administrators and review the arrangements proposed for hosting the competitions.
The inspection exercise will conclude with an evaluation and compilation of reports to inform the assessment of the bids.
The exercise forms part of USSSA’s preparations for the 2027 National Secondary School Championships and its commitment to ensuring that host institutions are adequately equipped to deliver safe, well-organised and successful competitions.
