King’s College Budo could win a fourth consecutive rugby 15s boys’ title at Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association Ball Games I.
Budo have won the last three championships held at Ntare School in 2023, Ndejje Secondary School in 2024, and Bukedea Comprehensive School last year.
But that is not the only side chasing history. Budo came from behind to beat Busoga College Mwiri 33-7 after the latter had scored from an early converted try in their quaterfinal contest.
In the semifinals, the three-time champions play Jinja SS, who are chasing their first title at the Ball Games but had to hold their nerves to beat Makerere College 12-6 in the quarters.
Namilyango College which is partnering with Seroma Christian High School to host rugby games (as well as accommodating the boys) is also hoping to win a title on home soil. They obliterated Ntare School 69-0 in the quarters.
Namilyango meet St. Mary’s College Kisubi in a semifinal contest that never leaves anyone as a neutral. SMACK had to shake off a second half scare to beat Mbarara High School 13-10 in the quarters.
But even more importantly, SMACK are returning from a year’s sabbatical and have already earned a slot to the Federation of East Africa Secondary School Sports Association Games.
