Overview
The 7th edition USSSA Elite Games got off to a flying start at Janan SS Bombo with all 7 disciplines played across various fields in Bombo community.
In handball, Bombo Army boys and girls had a day to forget losing out on all three occasions they stepped out on the pitch.
Only two games were played on the netball court with Buddo SS making light work of hosts Janan SS by 103 – 03. Meanwhile, SMASK beat Namagabi by 59-25
In football, Buddo SS started on high note winning by a goal to nil against Kyadondo SS.
Mentor SS held East Africa champions Bukedea to a 2- all draw while St. Mary’s Kitende had a dream start against Fortportal SS winning 5-1.
Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga boys team beat St. Mary’s Kitende 2-1 in a classy afternoon display.
New Uganda Martyrs head coach, Ssaka John Oscar got the better of SMASK’s Hassan Zzungu in the tactical battle which means SMASK will have to await result between Uganda Martyrs and Fort portal SS to advance from the group.
Post group stages, the boys teams will advance to quarter finals. Buddo SS which racked up 2 wins is already through to the next stage.
In volleyball, Bukedea had a dream start winning 2 in 2 while St. Kagwa debutants at this edition also started with a victory over Namagabi SS.
Game day 2 continues in Janan with ation getting intenser in the calm weather of Luweero.
