Seroma Christian High School was given the greenlight by the Ministry of Education and Sports to host the 2026 National Ball games 1 after an inspection was carried out on March 17th 2026.
The team was led by Mr. Odongo Sammy, Assistant Commissioner, PES, Ministry of Education and Sports and Apolot Margaret Harriet, 3rd Vice President, USSSA on behalf of Mugisha Justus, USSSA President.
USSSA Executive committee members Ayub Khalifa and Muhumuza Richard were also present.
Secretariat Staff members Omaria Bosco, Kasakya Emmanuel, Saidi Ddamulira,Nsimbi Martin,Muhwezi Brian and Nakato Aisha.
Alongside teachers from Seroma Christian High school led by the Mrs. Kyambadde Amelia, the resident director and Mr. Barasa Gerald, chairman organizing committee, Mwanje Flavia, Masaba Ralph,Magyezi Thomas,Mrs. Kayanja Edith,Okiring Judith,Kizito Henry,Malinga Daniel,Makabugo Samson,Owani Geoffrey,Otim Patrick Tom,Komakech Geoffrey,Kibirige Lucy,Muboki David and Nandita Irene.
A plenary was held at the school and at the start Mrs. Kayanja Edith the head teacher SCHS was grateful that Seroma was selected to host these games.
“It is an honor to host these games and we realize the task ahead of us is an uphill task. We want to assure you of our commitment to host these games. We have been closely supported by our ASSHU in Mukono and the regional leaders”. Said Mrs. Kayanja Edith.

The exercise saw the team move from one school to another throughout the day as suggested by hosts Seroma. Among the schools visited were Namilyango College (accommodation venue for the boys), Uganda Christian University as well as the football pitches at Our Lady of Africa Mukono, Bishops SS Mukono, Nakisunga sub county grounds and Seroma Christian High School to accommodate the girls, opening, closing ceremonies and racquet games.
The choice of co-hosting institutions is dependent on distance from the main hosting schools SEROMA, the quality of the facilities such as playing fields and dormitories.
The disciplines in ball games 1 include football (girls), Rugby 15s, netball U16, Volleyball U16, handball U16, hockey, badminton, tennis, table tennis, basketball 5X5 and basketball 3X3.
There is construction going on at Seroma’s premises for a basketball court and the main pitch. According to the Kitayimbwa Solomon the project manager work is expected to be completed by the 15th of April.

After the inspection another plenary session and afterwards an official letter was handed to the resident director by the Assistant commissioner signed by the Dr. Kedrace Turyagenda Permanent secretary (Ministry of Education and sports).

Members from Mukono District School Sports Association attended the inspection.Muhumuza Richard the USSSA Chairperson Mukono Zone has been instrumental in guiding the team in Seroma on what to do as they prepare for the games.
