


Team Uganda advances to knock out round with no defeat | 2026 CAF Schools Championship
CAF Schools Championship 2026:
Uganda’s Group A matches
- Uganda 6-0 Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Uganda 3-0 Morocco
- Zimbabwe 1-1 Uganda
Uganda (represented by St Mary’s Boarding School Kitende) scored 10 goals and conceded once during the group stage level at the 2026 CAF Schools championship in Harare city, Zimbabwe.
After overcoming blushes in the 1-all draw with hosts Zimbabwe on the opening day, game day two was quite different.
With ruthlessness, Uganda humiliated the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 6-0 in the first of Tuesday’s matches.



Owen Mukisa led the massacre with a hat-trick, with Musa Kironde, Ivan Kakinda and Emmanuel Opio each scoring a goal.
For the second game, Uganda humbled North Africans Morocco 3-0.
Lucky Wanyama scored twice (a brace) and Mukisa added the other.
Uganda thus qualified out of group A with 7 points out of the possible 9; alongside Morocco on 6 points.



The East African zone representatives will thus face Benin in Thursday’s semi-finals as Morocco take on Senegal.
“We are so happy having made it to the knock out round. One of the objectives was to qualify as the group leader which we achieved. Now, we have to plan for the semi-final opponent as the target is win the tournament” an overwhelmed Uganda head coach Hassan Zzungu remarked after Tuesday’s double victory.
Meanwhile, the semi-finalists for the girls include the defending champions Ghana, Morocco, Burkina Faso and Zambia.
Wednesday, 8th April 2026 will be for the classification duels to determine positions 5 to 8 per gender.
