CAF African Schools Football Championship 2026 (U-15):
Semi-finals (Boys) – Thursday, 9th April:
- Uganda Vs Benin 2:30 PM
- Morocco Vs Senegal 4:00 PM
Wednesday, 8th April 2026 was a resting day for the semi-finalists at the on-going 2026 CAF African schools football championship in Harare city, Zimbabwe.
However it was business as usual for team Uganda who optimally utilized the day for body recovery and also executed final training drills at the Gateway High School.
Uganda is set to face Benin in one of the boy’s semi-finals on Thursday as Morocco takes on Senegal in the other semi-final for a slot in final.
Team captain Livingstone Kulata anticipates a big clash against Benin; one that he dubs challenging but was quick to express readiness for the contest at hand.
“We have had a good last training session as we get ready to play Benin tomorrow (Thursday). They (Benin) worked hard to get out of the game and this is the reason I expect a challenging match. But, I am hopeful, we shall battle and eliminate them” Kulata remarked.
The captain’s sentiments were stamped in the affirmative by the head coach Hassan Zzungu, promising a spirited fight against Benin.



“The last training was good and the response of the players is good. The attitude is good and we shall go to fight for a win. We looked at the Benin team and have planned accordingly. The attitude of the players is positive and we have prepared well” Zzungu stated after the last training under sunny conditions.
Uganda finished top of Group A with 7 points out of the possible 9, having scored 10 goals and conceded once.
The biggest victory came off the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) 6-0. Hitman Owen Mukisa struck thrice (hattrick).
Musa Kironde, Ivan Kakinda and Emmanuel Opio each got a goal.
Uganda also beat Morocco 3-0 with Lucky Wanyama’s brace and Mukisa notching his fourth goal.
The first game with the hosts Zimbabwe ended 1-goal apiece.
Meanwhile, the girl’s semifinalists are Zambia, Burkina Faso, Morocco and the defending champions Ghana.
Uganda’s Group A matches:
- Match 1: Zimbabwe 1-1 Uganda
- Match 2: Uganda 6-0 Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC)
- Match 3: Uganda 3-0 Morocco
