Uganda’s representatives at the 2026 CAF African Schools football championship in the boys’ category, St Mary’s Boarding School, Kitende open up their campaign against hosts Zimbabwe on Easter Monday, 6th April.
The confirmation came after the official draw of the championship held on Thursday in Zimbabwe’s capital city, Harare.
Uganda is in Group A; as the hosts Zimbabwe, Morocco and Democratic Republic of Congo.
Head coach Hassan Zzungu is unfazed about the stature of the group; calling for diligence as the prime target is lifting the title.
“We have seen the draw. We are focused and ready to tackle game by game, starting with the hosts in the official opener.” Zzungu revealed moments after the draw.

“For sure, we have prepared well with different sessions, including warm up games” Kulata, a wing forward asserted.
“At such a championship, it is important that you start strongly and win the opening game to build momentum for the rest of the games” Kulata added.
The team is set to conduct their first training on Good Friday (in the afternoon). This session will be followed by subsequent sessions on Holy Saturday and Easter Sunday before the showdown on Monday.
