A statement on matchday one.

Seroma’s campaign began with a high-intensity clash against the hosts, Janan Secondary School. In front of a home crowd, Janan hoped to set the tone. Instead, it was Seroma who delivered the early statement, defeating the hosts 14-06 in a commanding performance.

At the heart of that victory was Fond!

Sharp in transition, fearless in attack, and vocal in leadership, he dictated the tempo of the game. Whether driving to the rim or knocking down crucial shots, he demonstrated the confidence of a player who knew he was built for the big stage.

Fondo receives accolade and Airtel bag from USSSA 2nd VP Okot P’Bitek.

Speaking to us after match day one on the School Sports Podcast, Fond made his intentions clear. He backed himself to be the Most Valuable Player of the championship. More importantly, he backed his team to go all the way and lift the trophy. It wasn’t arrogance. It was belief.

On the other hand, Mvara SS emerged champions in the girls’ category edging Seroma and Ndejje SSS who came second and third respectively.

The 7th edition Elite Games came to a close on 1st March 2026 and now teams are back to prepare for the upcoming district and zonal qualifiers.
