Kabukunge Muslim Storm Into USSSA Ball Games II Rugby Sevens Semi-finals
Kabukunge Muslim School kept their dream run alive at the USSSA Ball Games II Rugby Sevens Championship after edging Kitgum Comprehensive 12-7 in a tightly contested Cup quarterfinal at Bishop Angelo Negri College.
Making only their second appearance at the national championship after debuting at St. Peter’s College, Tororo in July 2025, Kabukunge produced a spirited display to book a place in the last four.
Their reward is a blockbuster semi-final against reigning Central Region Sevens champions Makerere College School on Wednesday, July 15, with a place in the championship final at stake.
Elsewhere, Busoga College Mwiri claimed bragging rights in the all-Jinja derby, defeating Kiira College Butiki 19-7 to set up a semi-final showdown with Mbarara High School, who blanked Kijjabwemi SS 12-0. Makerere College School also advanced comfortably after overcoming London College 29-12.
